Already at the end of September 2020 we had heard a rumour about the possibility of a major refresh of the Tesla Model 3.
After a few clues in the spare parts catalogue and a few well-founded rumours, we finally have some shots of this new Tesla Model 3 in the car park of the Fremont factory and on a delivery truck to a Service Centre.
Initially a new item appeared at the end of September in the spare parts catalogue, a certain “Cabin heating, ventilation and air-conditioning(HVAC)”, a part already present in the Tesla Model Y catalogue and which has the advantage of being able to better distribute the heat and carry out exchanges of flows allowing for a very important efficiency and increased efficiency (especially for very cold countries).
Then we had heard a lot of rumours about updating the seats, the roof canopy, the windows, the centre console, the chrome delete and so on…
Today, with the pictures we have been able to recover, we can only affirm a few modifications that we let you discover in pictures:
UPDATE 1: a photo of the new centre console
The photos are there, and the first conclusions will be simple.
The chrome delete
seems to be confirmed and moreover on 2 different models (red on the truck and grey on the car park).
The centre console
looks very different from the current one, with thicker edges and a thinner-looking armrest.
On the other hand the seats, despite the darkness, don’t look much different, and the roof sky
always seems clear and not dark as announced.
It is impossible to validate or invalidate the presence ofdouble-glazed windows and the heat pump
.
Production will start on 5 October 2020
, so it is very likely that Europe will only receive these vehicles in 2 months’ time.
Consequently, the vehicles currently in transit by boat will also be “V1s” without all these modifications.
UPDATE 2
It seems to be confirmed that the new Tesla Model 3 produced from October 5th will have these major changes, however it also appears that a new USB port for Sentinel Mode will now be present in the glove box which will be possible to secure with a pin code, a
new feature present on the lastupdate.
These new Tesla Model 3’s seem to bring an important change on the rim side. Indeed the option in 19 inches comes to change the design. They become a little more angular and less rounded like the first versions.
It even seems that there is something more important behind this small difference. It may be that Tesla is setting aside aluminium rims for plastic hubcaps. Usually in the form of a hole drilled directly into the rim, such a clean cut-out would suggest a plastic wheel trim.
Two other rumours are in the news, the disappearance of the “Aero” wheels in favour of the standard 19-inch wheels and a major change in interior options, with white becoming an option available only on the Tesla Model 3 performance model.
As usual, these are rumours and must be taken with care.
