Tesla Introduces New Lunar Silver Paint Finish
Tesla has quietly unveiled Lunar Silver, a gorgeous new paint finish for the Model S and Model X. This exquisite color choice generates excitement among Tesla devotees. According to Tesla’s online configurator, Lunar Silver costs $2,500 in the United States and CA$3,330 in Canada. This is the same price as the Ultra Red option, providing buyers with a premium alternative.
First Announcement
Sawyer Merritt first noticed this new option on X (formerly Twitter). Described as “a clean silver with a pronounced metallic effect and subtle blue tint,” Lunar Silver is a fresh addition to Tesla’s color palette. It replaces the discontinued Quicksilver, which had “a dynamic, liquid metal effect.“
Unique Characteristics and Enhanced Visuals
Tesla’s description of Lunar Silver emphasizes its unique qualities:
- Pronounced Metallic Effect: The paint has a futuristic and high-tech look.
- Subtle Blue Tint: This adds depth and changes slightly with lighting.
- Technical and Dynamic Feel: New pigments enhance the car’s sleek design from every angle under the sun.
Lighter, brighter highlights—deeper, darker shadows. Lunar Silver is a clean silver color with a pronounced metallic effect and subtle blue tint. By utilizing new pigments, this paint achieves a technical and dynamic feel that accentuates the form of Model S and Model X from any angle under the sun.
Expansion of Color Options
Lunar silver has a stunning visual appeal. It has lighter, brighter highlights and deeper, dark shadows. This contrast emphasizes the shape of the Model S and Model X, making them stand out on the road. The Model Y, Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck can now be silver with Lunar Silver. Surprisingly, the car 3 is currently the only Tesla car without a silver paint option. The last silver option for the Model 3 was Silver Metallic, which was discontinued in late 2018.
Tesla’s new Lunar Silver paint finish gives the Model S and Model X a sleek, modern look. This new color choice, priced at $2,500 in the United States and CA$3,330 in Canada, is expected to appeal to purchasers seeking a unique and classy finish. With its prominent metallic look and faint blue tint, Lunar Silver is a welcome addition to Tesla’s color palette.
