Tesla Cybertruck in- House Wrap Service Ends
Tesla Cybertruck in-house wrapping service was just discontinued by Tesla. This decision was made only two months after the color options were narrowed down. Cybertruck owners now have fewer options, even if the Model 3 and Model Y still offer wrap services. In October 2023, Tesla launched its in-house wrap service. The service was initially only available for the Model 3 and Model Y, but it quickly grew to include the Cybertruck. Only a few procedure Centers offered the procedure, and the wraps added a distinctive look to Cybertruck’s stainless steel body.
However, Tesla started to reduce this service shortly after. In September, Tesla lowered the number of wrap color options from eleven to just three: Satin Ceramic White, Satin Rose Gold, and Satin Stealth Black.
Limited Customization Options for Cybertruck Owners
Wraps were a popular way for Cybertruck owners to customize their vehicles for a while. The Cybertruck was a great canvas for distinctive color wrapping because of its sharp, angular appearance. However, owners are now forced to look for third-party choices as the in-house service has ended. This move marks a significant change, as Tesla wraps once enabled Cybertruck users to stand out on the road with factory-applied colors and finishes.
Price and Availability
Tesla’s choice was probably influenced by several factors. The wraps were expensive; Cybertruck covers might cost up to $6,500. Furthermore, there were only three California locations where the wraps were offered. Many owners may not have found the service acceptable due to its restricted availability and high cost. Consequently, it’s possible that demand fell short of what Tesla had anticipated.
Shifting Focus to High-Demand Models
The Model 3 and Model Y, two highly demanded models with wrap options, are receiving more Tesla resources. It makes sense for Tesla to concentrate on models with bigger customer bases because there are fewer Cybertrucks on the road and fewer Service Centers available for wrap installations. The change might enable Tesla to meet demand for its well-liked vehicles and streamline operations.
Interestingly, Tesla has not issued an official statement about ending the Cybertruck wrap service. This silence leaves room for speculation. While some may be disappointed, the decision may signal Tesla’s preference for efficiency and prioritizing resources where demand is strongest.
