The new Model 3 is full of surprises
The rumours were therefore well-founded and Tesla took advantage of its Thursday evening to come and update the Tesla Model 3 page. One discovers a wonderful refresh with improvements that seem to correct the small flaws it still had. We start with the exterior, quite simple, Tesla opts for a complete Chrome Delete of the car, exactly like on the Tesla Model Y. Window contours, mirrors, handles and camera will now be in matt black, it remains to be seen if their coating will be water repellent as some Model Y owners indicate. Concerning the rims, the Tesla Model 3 seems to have new Aero. Darker, with a slightly straighter design : Version 1 Version 2 The 19-inch rim option also seems to have the same scenario. A slightly more rectangular design at the beginning and end of the spokes. To see if the rumour of a passage on plastic hubcaps is verified : Version 1 : Version 2 : Finally and to close the rim section, the biggest surprise comes from the Performance model. Tesla has therefore chosen to offer the same model as the Tesla Model Y, the “Überturbine20” rims. A magnificent design that reminds the purists of the rims at the presentation of the Tesla Model 3 in 2016: Here is the new rim version for the Tesla Model 3 : On the equipment side we learn that the Tesla Model 3, just like the Model Y will have an original electric trunk. Therefore all Tesla vehicles will now have an electric rear trunk. In addition, Tesla makes official the new centre console with the new design previously seen in various leaks. This new centre console, more elaborate and less minimalist will not leave anyone indifferent. This new design is however only (for the moment) updated on the Tesla Model 3 and the Model Y configurator has remained unchanged. In terms of range, Tesla has also improved its vehicles on paper: the Model 3 Standard Range has increased to 430 km instead of 409 km, the Long Range has increased to 580 km instead of 560 km and the Performance has increased from 530 km to 567 km. An autonomy which for the moment does not seem to be linked to the improvement of the batteries but surely the addition of a heat pump which will make the car more economical. The first deliveries seem to be scheduled for November for the Long Range and Performance, and February for the Standard Range.
