Tesla chief interior designer Peter Blades has left the electric vehicle giant after nine years to join Skyryse, which reinvents helicopter designs. Blades’ departure represents a shift toward a new frontier in transportation innovation.
Blades’ period at Tesla was distinguished by innovative thinking and visionary design. He joined in 2014. He became Principal Design Lead for the Model 3’s interior, establishing Tesla’s future design language. His responsibilities grew to include managing the creative design teams for the Semi and Model Y and developing the interior concepts that would define these ground-breaking cars.

Blades’ effect expanded beyond vehicles. He was instrumental in designing the interior of the second-generation Roadster, which is set to launch with unprecedented specifications.
